COURSE OVERVIEW

 

The occupational profile for Welder defines the duties and Tasks a competent welder is expected to perform in the world of world in Uganda today.
Since it reflects the skill of requirements of work life, the occupational profile is the reference document for the subsequent development of assessment instruments and training modules which are directly relevant to employment in the work industry.

To ensure that a welder excels at the place of work, the following duties and tasks are the areas of training.

  1. Health and Safety.
  2. Plan work.
  3. Maintain tools and equipment.
  4. Preparation of surfaces.
  5. Performance of welding.
  6. Performing of Finishing.
  7. Perform communication Tasks.
  8. Maintain Records.

The requirements to sit for the above.

Level 1 – Primary Seven certificate, birth certificate, pass photos.
Level 2 – Uganda Certificate Education, birth certificate, pass port photos.
Level 3 – Level 2 Certificate, birth certificate, pass photos.
