Why you should Participate

The organisers intend that through actively participating, final year students and fresh graduates of TVET institutions will 

  • Be better positioned to achieve qualification goals
  • Develop personal, technical and employability skills
  • Raise their aspirations and ambitions
  • Improve their self-esteem and confidence especially at work place
  • Build on their strengths and identify areas for development
  • Develop networks with peers, TVET institutions and industry

CRITERIA OF PARTICIPATION

The candidate students for the competition must be:

  • 1. An actively enrolled final year student or a recent graduate (within one year) of a public or private TVET Institution registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports. Students in their first year with exceptional performance can also apply
  • 2. Enrolled in one of the following programs:
  • (a). For Agro-processing, relevant programs include: Food Science/Food Technology, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Agriculture, Horticulture, Agro-processing (including fisheries), Agri-business Home Economics, Catering, and Hotel management
  • (b).  For Agro-Machinery fabrication, relevant programs include: Welding and fabrication, Agricultural engineering, Industrial Technology, Equipment designing technology, General Engineering, Machining and any other related courses
  • 3. Aged between 15 and 21 years at the time of application
  • 4. Interested in TVET programs and willing to participate actively in the skills’ competition activities
  • 5. Agree to avail themselves for marketing purposes as and when required and accept that the organizers of the NASC hold the right to all media and publications with the applicant’s inclusion

THE STAGES OF THE NATIONAL AGRO-SKILLS COMPETITIONS

1.. 15th Sept – 7th Oct 2021: Preparations by TRIDI, MoES, UNESCO & Partners  

2.. 11th – 15th Oct, 2021: Registration/Expression of interest to participate in the competitions

3.. 18th – 25th Oct, 2021: Screening and Review of Applications

 

4..  26th – 29th Oct, 2021: Training of participants in preparation for Regional competitions

 

5.1st – 4th Nov, 2021: Regional Assessements for competitors for further screening

 

6.6th – 15th Nov, 2021: Screened participants compete at regional level

7.18th Nov, 2021: Announcement of Regional Winners 

 

8.22nd-30th Nov,  2021: Regional winners train for National level Competitions 

9.. December 2021: Regional winners compete at National level
