Why you should Participate

The organisers intend that through actively participating,  TVET institutions will: 

  1. Enhance the scope for creativity in teaching, training and learning techniques
  2. Promote and market their institutions 
  3. Have opportunities for networking through benchmarking, exchanges and learning from peers
  4. Raise the profile of Apprenticeships and vocational learning

CRITERIA OF PARTICIPATION

To be recruited for the participation, TVET institutions must possess the following qualifications:

  1. Public or private TVET Institution registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports
  2. Has one or more of the following programs at either certificate or diploma level: Food Science/Food Technology, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Agriculture, Horticulture, Agro-processing (including fisheries), Agri-business Home Economics, Catering, and Hotel management
  3. Show evidence of students’ enrolment and training in any of the above fields within the previous one (1) academic year
  4. Willing to host the regional and/or national skills competitions at their premises when called upon

 

THE STAGES OF THE NATIONAL AGRO-SKILLS COMPETITIONS

1.. 15th Sept – 7th Oct 2021: Preparations by TRIDI, MoES, UNESCO & Partners  

2.. 11th – 15th Oct, 2021: Registration/Expression of interest to participate in the competitions

3.. 18th – 25th Oct, 2021: Screening and Review of Applications

 

4..  26th – 29th Oct, 2021: Training of participants in preparation for Regional competitions

 

5.1st – 4th Nov, 2021: Regional Assessements for competitors for further screening

 

6.6th – 15th Nov, 2021: Screened participants compete at regional level

7.18th Nov, 2021: Announcement of Regional Winners 

 

8.22nd-30th Nov,  2021: Regional winners train for National level Competitions 

9.. December 2021: Regional winners compete at National level
