TRIDI organization under its academic program has injected in money to support the applied chemistry students to make agro-products like tomato sauce, yogurt, wine, coffee among others.
TRIDI is really working hand in hand to improve the livelihood of the youth and the surrounding community. TRIDI is impacting the lives of so many people around Uganda especially through its backbone which is sericulture.
Students learn Agro skills in the sense that even when they leave TRIDI, they can be able to employ themselves from what they have learnt from the institute.
Applied chemistry students managed to make tomato sauce, yogurt, wine, for the visitors from UNESCO that came to visit TRIDI premises to see what really transpires and see what has changed since the Agro skills competitions.

Visitors in the chemistry department checking on the tomato sauce the students processed

Students excelled in their presentation, visitors were impressed in that they had to buy themselves some of the products the students had processed, they bought Mayi’s coffee which is 100% Arabic coffee selling each Sacket at ten thousand shillings, tomato sauce each bottle at two thousand shillings.

Since the visitors managed to buy our products which are one hundred percent locally made, they will help in marketing them in the outside market hence TRIDI will be known worldwide.
With the money students got from selling the coffee and tomato sauce, they will use it to buy other requirements that they might be missing in their department.
Hence TRIDI is a home for everyone, it practices a hands on theory, encourage students to come and join TRIDI because there is no way they will ever regret joining TRIDI.
