National Certificate in Machining and Fitting (NCMF)

This National Certificate in Machining and Fitting (NCMF) curriculum aims to produce fitter machinists relevant to the industry and the world of work. It is learner-centered and competence-based, emphasizing skills acquisition through practical teaching and execution of projects.

The competences that the learner is expected to acquire are clearly outlined in the modules covered in each of the two semesters of an academic year. The modules offered in this course are designed to enable the learner to attain specific skills required for performing tasks at any level of the respective year of study. Machining and fitting focus on manufacturing and machining machine parts using processes such as lathe turning, milling, cutting, shaping, and fitting of keys, couplings, bushes, shafts, and bearings.
