Job Title: Program Finance Manager

Company: Tropical Institute of Development Innovations (TRIDI)

Location: The Program Finance Manager shall be based at the head office at Nandudu Place, Kyabakadde, Mukono but will occasionally be required to make field visits and work-related travels within the regions of implementation.

Job relationship: The Program Finance Manager will directly report to the Program manager and will work closely with the other management staff to achieve Program goals and objectives.

Job Summary:

The Sustainable Inclusive Young Employment Pathways (SIYEP) is a five-year program whose lead agency is Agency for Accelerated Rural Development (AFARD) in partnership with Mastercard Foundation aimed at equipping rural based disadvantaged young women with market relevant technical, vocational, soft and entrepreneurship skills and transition them into dignified and fulfilling work by 2030.  The Program aims to empower 23,000 vulnerable young women in Uganda through working with TVET institutions to organize skills competitions and developing innovative products in TVET. The Program Finance Manager shall oversee financial management, budgeting, forecasting and reporting for SIYEP and ensure compliance with the organizational policies and donor regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage and monitor Program budgets and financial plans.
  • Prepare and submit timely financial reports to management and stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to organizational financial policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee procurement processes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and donor regulations.
  • Submission of monthly Financial Reports alongside monthly bank reconciliations (BRS)to SIYEP-PIU-Finance Manager.
  • Submission of 100% payment support documents to PKF and PIU for review.
  • Maintain up-to-date Asset register shared quarterly to SIYEP-PIU Finance Manager.
  • Provide sufficient time and support to PKF and PIU Finance Manager team during support document review.
  • Prepare financial reports in accordance with the Foundation’s Financial Reporting and receipts compliance guidelines.
  • Develop payrolls and disburse funds according to the approved workplan and budget.
  • Manage Program cash flows, ensuring adequate funding for activities.
  • Conduct financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Ensure that the financial management system is fully set up and functional.
  • Train other staff on financial management and compliance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance & Accounting, Economics, or related field. MBA is an added advantage.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Program finance management.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles and practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in financial management software.
  • Additional professional training is mandatory, with CPA, ACCA or CIMA certificates
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver expected output efficiently.

What We Offer:

  • The gross monthly salary for this full-time Program Finance Manager position is UGX 2,500,000/= (Two million Five Hundred Thousand Uganda shillings). This role is dedicated to the day-to-day financial management of the project, including the development of project budgets, monitoring of financial transactions, and preparation of financial reports. This pay includes Basic Salary, National Social Security Fund (NSSF), 8% Medical Insurance, and 2.5% GPA Insurance and Payee.
