THE NEXT CHAPTER
WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?
The quarter ends with a bigger challenge than the one it began with. The question is no longer simply Can we reach young women? We have evidence that we can. The next question is, Can we help them cross the distance between training and opportunity?
That means continuing to strengthen;
TVET INSTITUTIONS
So they can deliver relevant, inclusive and safe training.
INSTRUCTORS
So they can teach for competence and changing markets.
YOUNG WOMEN
So they gain technical, entrepreneurial, digital and work-readiness skills.
COMMUNITIES
So families and gatekeepers support participation.
INDUSTRY
So training is connected to real workplace expectations.
MARKETS
So products and skills have somewhere to go.
PARTNERS
So resources, knowledge and influence work together.
SIYEP’s programme goal is ambitious, equip 258,000 young women in Uganda with market-relevant technical, vocational, soft and entrepreneurship skills, with the wider objective of supporting access to work and decent, fulfilling employment by 2030.
That ambition cannot be achieved by one organisation. It requires an ecosystem.
