Dear All
It is my honor to address you as the Executive Director of the Tropical Institute of Development Innovations (TRIDI). At TRIDI, we are driven by a passion for excellence in science, technology, and innovation, and our commitment to advancing knowledge for the betterment of humanity.
As we navigate the dynamic landscape of research, education, and development, our focus remains steadfast on promoting the application and advancement of science, technology, innovations, and next-generation management practices. We believe that these pillars are integral to enhancing entrepreneurship, productivity, manufacturing, and processing, contributing to sustainable development.
Mission and Objectives: Our mission is clear — to promote the application and advancement of STIMPS. We achieve this by:
Policy Analysis and Development: Providing leadership in policy analysis, development, influence, and reform implementation.
Innovation Promotion: Promoting and experimenting with the use and advancement of scientific, technological, and artistic innovations.
Research Advancement: Advancing scientific, technological, artistic, or social science research to address contemporary challenges.
Education: Educating and sponsoring the education of students, researchers, interns, or innovators with unique abilities, talents, or innovations.
Facility Operation: Operating laboratories, factories, farms, workshops, studios, and other installations for the advancement of discoveries and innovations.
Information Dissemination: Supporting information dissemination and application to ensure that knowledge reaches far and wide.
Cluster Centers/Programs: TRIDI is organized into thirteen cluster centers/programs, each dedicated to specific fields of expertise. These include Agriculture, Tourism, Mineral Exploration, Information Technology, Textiles, Urban Construction, Furniture Design, Manufacturing, Sports, Health, Policy Analysis, and Performance Enhancement Management.
Sericulture Commercialization Project: One of our flagship projects is the “Commercialization of Sericulture Technologies and Innovations in Uganda.” This project aims to transform Uganda’s sericulture industry, increase domestic silk production, and elevate rural incomes.
Achievements and Impact: The impact of TRIDI’s initiatives is evident in the transformation of communities and the nation at large. From increased silk production to the development of next-generation technologies, we take pride in contributing to positive change.
Collaborate and Engage: We welcome collaboration with academic institutions, industry partners, and individuals who share our vision. By working together, we can drive innovation, promote sustainable development, and create a better future.
