Kalongo and Kilak Corner: building the pathway in Acholi
In July, TRIDI’s SIYEP work reached Kalongo Technical Institute and Kilak Corner Technical Institute. The mission brought together instructor training, gender and safeguarding, SRH and life skills, profiling, scholarship systems and institutional partnerships. 60 tutors trained across the two institutions, 215 young women profiled/enrolled, 2 scholarship committees established, 2 MoUs signed.
THE STORY IS NOT THE TRIP
The story is what happens when an institution says: “We are ready to participate.” A partnership agreement becomes a working relationship, A trained instructor becomes a multiplier, A scholarship committee becomes a local mechanism for access, And a young woman who enters the system becomes part of a potential pathway to work.
